GNL Explorers — interactive educational tools for type 1 diabetes

Educational explorer

Alcohol and Type 1 Diabetes Explorer

Select your drinks, insulin regimen, and timing. The Explorer estimates your average risk window and generates a population-average safety guide — based on the physiology of how alcohol impairs liver glucose output in T1D. These are starting points for a clinical conversation, not a prescription for any individual.

Important — about this tool

This is an educational explorer built from clinical evidence and real-world patterns. It models how alcohol affects liver glucose output on average — not how it will affect you specifically. It is not a prescription, not a medical device, and must not be used as one. All outputs are for education and discussion only. Any changes to your insulin settings, device configuration, or diabetes management must be made with your diabetes care team.

This tool does not encourage alcohol use. It exists because silence creates risk. People with T1D drink, and they deserve evidence-based education to do so more safely.
